A Prayer

Our Sunday Bible class is studying 1 Corinthians, and especially sections pertinent to Lent. On 23 March, we  studied 1 Corinthians 9: 24-27 and the topic of self-control, self-discipline. The prayer below results from the fact that in the contest, the struggle, the good fight, He fights by our side with weapons of the Spirit, especially prayer:
“Lover of men, from the danger which Paul mentions, that while preaching to others I myself be found false. You truly know how weak we are. You recognize the nature of the foe who oppresses us. In our uneven contest and our mortal weakness we seek You, for the glory redounds to Your majesty if the roaring lion is overcome by the feeble sheep.” Amen.
