Church Choices

Maybe you have seen on a blog this comparison between types of churches:

Then there is this video which poses the question, church: cruise ship or battleship?

Those are all well and good and I agree with what is being said in them.

But there is a much more pointed  comparison that uses purely Biblical words:

We are a warm accepting and welcoming congregation! We are here to serve YOU! We are not religious, we are spiritual. We practice what we teach and speak to your everyday problems and needs. We are here to meet your needs! We have many programs for just what you need. We just want to reach out to you! You will find worship here the way you want it: intimate and caring! This is a guilt-free congregation! We are life-affirming! Come and join us and stay as long as you like! We are not about creeds but deeds. You will come here anxious and leave refreshed! We keep confidences: what happens here, stays here!

We don't want to tell you about ourselves, but we are called to tell you of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus is not so much about acceptance, but His forgiveness. Yes, you will find here whores, idolaters, adulterers, men who practiced homosexuality, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, swindlers, a long way from home and God’s reign in Jesus. And such were some of us. But we were washed, sanctified, justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. We’re not perfect but forgiven. Oh, wondrous thought! He found us even when we sought Him not! We don't preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified and risen for you!

your Church

a whore house

or God’s House?
